The Beyond Borders Project
The Beyond Borders project began in 2015 as a small seed when our founder started the path to becoming a certified Swedish psychologist. The certification process was revealed to be flawed, unpredictable, and unfair, excluding a valuable professional group from the Swedish job market. This marked the beginning of growth for the seed that had been planted.
Our purpose
1. Creating Change
- Addressing the challenges faced by psychologists with foreign educational backgrounds.
- Initiating a dialogue with the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) to establish a clear and consistent process for obtaining Swedish licensure.
- Improving the working conditions for international psychologists by collaborating with the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen).
2. Fostering Inclusivity
Providing a supportive environment where international psychologists can feel a sense of belonging and continue their professional development.
3. Offering Employment Opportunities
Utilizing the expertise of our psychologists in their respective fields to meet the growing demand for psychological interventions in Swedish society.
Leveraging our multicultural background to contribute to the Swedish job market. The Beyond Borders Project aims to facilitate immediate employment opportunities in our specialized areas, benefiting both our team and the Swedish community.
Psychologists at Beyond Borders
A psychologist within our project is an individual with an international education in psychology. In Sweden, only those certified by the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) can use the title "psychologist".
Psychologists at the Beyond Border Project are working towards Swedish authorization and are not covered by the Swedish Health Care Act. Typically, psychologists hold a master's degree in psychology approved by the Swedish Council for Higher Education.
Our psychologists offer a diverse perspective to the Swedish job market, bringing innovative and forward-thinking approaches that enrich the psychology landscape in Sweden.
What makes Beyond Borders unique?
- Multilingual Team: Our consultants are proficient in at least two languages, such as Arabic, German, Turkish, Hindi, French, Spanish, Bengali, Chinese, Finnish, and Lebanese.
- Multicultural Perspective: The diverse backgrounds of our psychologists at Beyond Border Project enhance our understanding of various cultures and nationalities.
- Academic and Psychological Diversity Our psychologists bring educational experiences from different countries, introducing a level of psychological and academic diversity that is currently absent in the Swedish job market. They represent a variety of institutions with unique research areas not yet explored in Swedish research or job sectors.
